OK, pure unfettered and unpaid adulation here.
I've had a chance to sample the wares from Lady Rowley's, the chocolatier stepping in to take the place of our lamentably departed prior chocolate source.
It's VERY good. I think my favorite so far are the dark chocolate truffles - there's a touch of cinnamon (I think) in the outer layer, and the combination is pretty durned intense.
It's going to be a good year :^)

Thu, February 15, 2007 - 10:48 AMThey should try to get the patronage of Viscount Bindon as the previous chocolatier has departed. He liked them so much that they bore his coat of arms at the booth. -

Sun, February 18, 2007 - 4:44 PMI'm with ya all the way, Lurch.
I've sampled Lady Rowley's wares at private events for a couple of different guilds over this last year and they're top-notch. Tried some delicious dipped berries at a handfast/wedding (an awesome "bouquet" in lieu of a wedding cake) and a few (well, maybe more than a few) assorted truffles as well, and let's just say that I'll definitely be on queue come opening day. I know that the good Lady is anxious about her first venture as a faire vendor, but she definitely has the high quality product to make good!! -

Re: RPFS '07 Chocolate booth ROCKS.
Mon, March 12, 2007 - 7:18 AMHOWEVER... I just learned via emails with her... being both a confirmed Chocoholic, AND a Diabetic... that though she will offer some 'no sugar added' items, they WILL use a sweetener that causes 'stomach distress' if taken in 'large quantity'........ but, just how much IS 'large quantity' ?
Sadly, in OTHERs chocolates, just 3 pieces caused severe abdominal cramping, and worse... I will skip the bathroom references, here.;
So... do I dare, and HOW MUCH do I dare, IF I dare ?
Why can't people choose to NOT use such artifice ? I don't need to satisfy my Sweet Teeth while also pursuing my love of Chocolate... and there ARE plenty of 'no sugar added' Chocolates 'out there' today !
Oh, well... heck, even munching on some few licorice sticks using that 'sweetener' caused me to have a completely pain-wracked day !
Poor choice in ingredients, with I assume well meant intentions...
